Accolade Brace Instructions 

Initial Setup – for a Shirt or Dress

1. Prepare Your Medals

• Pin your mounted medals on your shirt or dress in the position you would normally wear them.

• Remove the shirt/dress once the medals are correctly positioned.

 

2. Set Up the Accolade Brace

1. Attach the medal panel to the shoulder strap using the black G‑hook.

2. Fully loosen the shoulder strap.

3. Loosen the chest strap, then unfasten it.

4. Hold both ends of the chest strap and pull them outwards so the brace forms a “T‑shape”:

   • The shoulder strap should hang down.

   • The hooks on the medal panel should face away from you.

5. Bring the “T” over your head and allow it to rest against your back, with the shoulder strap hanging over your shoulder at the front.

6. Bring both ends of the chest strap around your body to the front and fasten it:

   • Ensure the strap is not twisted and sits in a straight line around your body.

   • Using a mirror can help at this stage.

7. Adjust the chest strap so it feels firm and secure.

8. Adjust the shoulder strap to approximately where you expect the medals to sit:

   • Stand tall when adjusting.

   • Ensure the black hooks face outwards.

   • Final adjustments can be made once your shirt is on.

 

3. Put On Your Shirt or Dress

• Put your shirt or dress (with medals attached) on over the brace.

 

4. Attach the Medals to the Brace

1. Using the two hooks on the medal panel, hook both hooks under the medal pin:

   • The medal panel should sit centrally beneath the pin.

   • Each hook should sit on either side of the pin’s centre clasp.

2. Adjust the shoulder strap under your shirt until:

   • The weight of the medals is supported.

   • There is no pulling or distortion of the fabric.

 

Final Checks

• The shoulder strap is not folded or buckled under the metal adjustment clip.

• The shoulder strap runs straight over your shoulder and directly down, not on an angle.

• The chest strap lies flat and is not twisted.

Removing the Brace

1. Unhook the medal panel from the medal pin.

2. Remove your shirt or dress.

3. Undo the chest strap.

4. Remove the brace.

   • Leave the straps at the same settings so it is ready for next use.

   • The brace is machine washable

Quick Guide – Putting the Brace On (After Initial Setup)

1. Pin mounted medals onto your shirt or dress.

2. Put on the brace:

   • Hold the chest strap ends and form a “T‑shape”.

   • Bring it over your head so it rests on your back, with the shoulder strap over your shoulder.

   • Fasten the chest strap at the front, ensuring all straps sit straight and untwisted.

3. Put your shirt or dress on over the brace.

4. Hook the medal panel onto the mounted medal pin.

5. Make any small adjustments needed for comfort and support.
